We get in to relationships to experience
aspects of ourselves that cannot be experienced when we are alone. Some of
those aspects are facets of our more solitary existence, expanded to include
another being.
One of the keys to love is learning to receive
love. We inwardly bow to the spirit of one of who has graced our path. It's
much like receiving a guest at the front door, making the person feel more
welcome in your home, while none of this occurs on the outer levels, it felt
within, and binds our lovers' heart to us.
Every relationship involves a "gift
exchange." There is always an exchange of gifts in a relationship, and
knowing this reminds us of the spiritual purpose of having one. There are lessons
for us to teach and to lessons to learn, in every human encounter.
.We cannot truly receive someone until we have
learned with grace and gratitude, to receive his or her many gifts to us. The
loves' smile is a gift. The lovers' thoughts are a gift. The lovers' advice is
a gift. And if we think that, then, why are we with these people? If our answer
is we don't know, and then we should start to think this way, their gifts will
become more attractive to us,
As the saying goes 'knowing me is loving me." When we know someone well, we love them more.
Your hair is greyer than it used to be,
your
belly softer. I actually like this better…
You were so intimidating when you
look like god.
I could not see your light,
through all the god that was
surrounding it.
I tripped in fear. Before your gorgeousness.
Your issues are
more interesting now,
more layered and richer
In meaning and scope.
I 've settled into you
Like a comfortable chair.
Welcome to the
world of the normal. Isn't it wonderful here?
